This is the final book in the “The Summer I Turned Pretty” trilogy. It was equally my favorite and least favorite book.
We’ve fast-forwarded two years past when Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah saved the summer house from being sold. Belly is in college, and has been dating Jeremiah for the past 2 or so years. The only thing is the Jeremiah in this book is almost completely unrecognizable compared to the Jeremiah we learned of in the past two books. The same thing with Taylor, she seemed like a completely different character. Conrad still was much the same, but when it came to his narrative, HE seemed completely different, too.
The book centers on Belly and Jeremiah’s upcoming wedding. They are getting married fast and to say no one but them (and Taylor) is excited about it would be an understatement. Belly moves out and lives in the summer house where Conrad is living. Conrad who helps her with wedding preparations while Jeremiah lollygags around with his bad habits and, as it turns out, poor credit. (WTH???) It fits nicely with his cheating ways. (See...totally different character.)
The final resolution to the book was what I wanted all along, but it was all finished too quickly and without much detail behind the story. Overall, the series was a decent read, but not my favorite. I liked the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series (by the same author) better.
